Happy New Year!!

Well, got a phone call before to say I've got more agency work next week , so quite happy at the moment here...
Also had a call yesterday from another agency to say they are going to pass my info on to a financial company in Liverpool city centre who may be interested in employing me too! So hopefully, could be a good start to the year for me.
Happy New Year to everyone especially here in the north west of England.

Will be sitting in with 3 cats who are scared of fireworks and will be either hiding anywhere they can find or shaking in my arms at my cousins house on the Wirral near New Brighton...

Christmas Markets

Went to Liverpool's Christmas Market today. Not many stalls . Mostly food stalls, some sweets ones, a few selling hats, scarves etc, two with some good tiled mirrors, jewellery, a soap one where I bought some nice smelling French soap to replace some in my clothes drawers and a small Morrocan market with nice bags etc. It's spread out along several streets but mostly, Church Street and towards the Met Quarter.Didnt have one selling large prawns though like they usually have which I like to try...

Nearly Christmas...

Well it's nearly Christmas and several months have passed since I last wrote anything....
Had my Birthday ( in September ) but didn't go away this year . Didn't matter too much as had good weather here in England especially at the end of the month and beginning of October. So good in fact that went to Southport beginning of October and it was boiling!! ( see below pics )

                          

Also at last visited the new Museum of Liverpool which is on the waterfront . Only part of it was open when I visited ( its now all open ) but its very good inside with lots on Liverpool's past and heritage. Joined a recruitment agency a few months ago and got my first job with them a week ago. It was only for a few days working in the post room for a large estate agents but at least its a start. Was very busy sending out statements to their customers as they have thousands on their books . Had paper cuts all over my hands when finished!

Just had our first fall of snow here today. Well I say "snow" but it didn't last long as more like slush and didn't stay on the ground, just left loads of very large puddles to try to walk around...
Good job have finished my Christmas shopping now as can rest up here and catch up on favourite programmes. Haven't watched much of new programme "Liverpool Scousewives". Not based on any people I know in Liverpool! Not very realistic for the average person.

The new cinema "The Light" has not long opened in New Brighton so may go and see something in that this next week. It's got a lot of 3D screenings for films at the moment so will be different.

Yes,yes I know its been a while....

Well , since my last post firstly I've been on holiday to Guernsey and Sark. Beautiful places both of them. Had good weather except for one day ( well it wouldn't be Britain would it without at least one day of rain! ) See photos below:

Have also been to Speke Hall. Have'nt been here since I was about 11 yrs old! I vaguely remembered the courtyard in the middle of the house but nothing else! Lovely gardens if a bit small and close to the end of Liverpool John Lennon Airport runway as the planes take off very close to the house!

Southport Flower show this year in August was excellent too . Lots of show gardens and a good flower marquee with plenty of plants to buy , so did ! A good choice of craft stalls too . Bought a very unusual necklace of dolly mixtures ( thank you www.madebyme.co.uk  ) , very cheap too so good value!
Went to an antique fair in Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight this past Bank Holiday. Some good stalls so bought several glasswear pieces ( my new likes for the house)
Not a lot else has happened. Still looking for a new job and waiting to hear on a couple of hopeful ones..

no new job...

Well, didn't get the last job mentioned ( boo hoo ! ) but have begun some volunteering instead for now.
After starting and meeting the others I can already see who work and who don't!
One lady only sat about trying to persuade people who came into the shop to buy something.
After learning to put tags onto clothes received , I started to tidy the bookshelves which were'nt in any particular order - several hours later I was still at it ...
One man said " We do this but the books only get untidy again " YES, well thats why you tidy it again !!
I go into charity shops regularly to buy books and its much easier to buy something if you can see what they have got !

Why does my post have different times of being delivered?!
One day it will be 11.30am others not until the afternoon.
Typical on a day when I'm actually WAITING for something !!
- a decision on my interview for a new job ! I emailed yesterday as had had no reply yet and got told they are sending out letters this week - no sign yet ....

First Post!!

Hello, my name is Wirral Girl and I live obviously on the Wirral Peninsula which is across the River Mersey from Liverpool ( for those who don't know the area ). Currently I am a mature student after having been made redundant last year. Having a good time being a student as missed out on it when younger. Am looking for a part time job at the mo to help support me whilst studying.

I like a wide range of things such as 80's and 90's music , gardening , vintage fashions esp. 60's and 80's mod era and also Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs , Paul Smith , Thomas Sabo jewellery plus antique glass and ceramics.

I will be commenting and helping to promote various different things going on in Wirral as well as my own life. Hope you enjoy it !
