Weather,weather......

Why does our days here always begin with one type of weather but end in another. I started off yesterday morning in a pair of brown boots because of rain and ended in ap pair of white pumps - Superga, my newest buy. Never know what to wear to work either. It's cold in work as I'm by an air conditioner so need a good cardigan all day. Highly recommend Pringle Golf. Got one in Cheshire Oaks outlet and it's warm as toast. I have a soft spot for the Mod look so am always on the lookout for a modern take on this.Does anyone know where I can find a good check skirt as all I've seen are black?.....

Finally started my new job! Had to go to London to train last week and will be still there for the next few weeks. Beautiful apartment all Paid for by the company too!

New Bag...

Went to Chester last Thursday and got a new bag for work as thought I would need a new one if I got my new job as I'd wrecked my other big bag with dripping ,make-up onto it in the mornings!
Do you know where I eventually got it.......BHS! Oh yes, if you havent been in there for a while its got A LOT better. Some pretty good handbag choices and very reasonable prices too!

They've got some nice choices in shoes too especially loafers ( so have M&S )

I'VE GOT A NEW JOB ( at last! )

At last I heard back from the job in Liverpool city centre and I got it! Yayy!!!
 I've just signed my new contract ( better pay and holidays than what I was expecting! ) and sent it off so now have to wait to see when I have to actually start. Have been told I will have to train in London to begin with which will be good as they pay for the hotel stay and food in evening. Will be good to laze around the hotel and may get the chance to stay at the weekend too if available.

Have actually got some agency work this week too at my usual place as holiday cover as coming up to Easter. Different work from usual I've been told but not what exactly.

Very happy now.........

Job News...

Had a second interview last Friday for the role in Liverpool by the Pier Head. It went well .
My agency who I got the interview through have said the company say the interview went well and I will hear back late this week or early next week!! Fingers crossed for me please!...

No news yet on job front, still waiting for an answer from the job in Liverpool and the council job.
Went to the vintage fashion fair on Saturday, Very good! A lot of good stalls to look around so took my time. Came home with a few bits of jewelery to add to the collection.

Sunday, went to Dobbies Garden centre near Speke for a look around. Very big site with a good restaurant which has crepes ( look good! ) They also had an aquarium section with a very large selection of fish to buy including seahorses at £500 each! Will have to go back again when it gets warmer and more plant choices to buy.

Vintage fair in Liverpool..

Today I was happy to read that there is a vintage clothes and home fair at St Georges Hall this Saturday in Liverpool city centre, 25th February. It is going to have 100 stalls so SHOULD find something of interest!

New film being made!

I happened to be in West Kirby yesterday morning and there is a film being made there called " Blood "
It is going to star Paul Bettany, Mark Strong and Brian Cox about a family of police brothers ( look it up on imdb called " Blood" ( 2013 ) )
There are a lot of trailers parked in the lower car park in front of Morrisons but couldnt see anyone around except for crew. I asked the
receptionist where I was going and she said they had been filming round the boating lake Monday and were filming on Hilbre yesterday.
Could be good to keep an eye out on as dont know how long they are going to be there for!...

Job Interviews!

Last week on the post sending out statements went well for the agency work. Had to help out with stamping the envelopes though in order to finish on time.

BUT.. had a phone call when there to say I've been put forward for a full time position which is temporary for three months and on Friday got a call to say I'm going for an interview this afternoon!
It's suppose to be an informal interview but how do you prepare for that? Is it the same as a formal interview?
ALSO i've got another interview tomorrow afternoon for a similar role in another company for a permanent job which takes place in a very iconic building in Liverpool.

Went to see where both buildings are on Saturday and both easy to get to on public transport.

Antique Fair from last weekend

Firstly , many thanks for the kind comments about my last blog. Yes, I like the site as well as it gives good info.
Well I went to the Antique fair in New Brighton last weekend and bought a few things. Firstly, a new Mdina Mushroom . ( Mdina is the factory who make it and are based in Malta ) I've got a few things from them as they make good glass items

I also got a new glass clown to add to the few I've also now started buying.The first one at home used to be in a glass cupboard when I was small ( early 1970's ) but dont know where it came from. It's much better than the ones I've seen since so are still looking for an original. This one is not bad as it goes and looks good on the mantlepiece ..



Note. The eyes are never as good as the original as they look added on later. On the original the eyes look as if they are moulded on with the rest of the clown in one glass piece . Still , this one is better than one I've got that looks as if a five year old did the eyes!

Not a lot else has gone on. Got a call to say I've got some agency work this  next week so earning some real money for now again. Have applied for several new  jobs with the agency , one with a local council on Merseyside. Have tried for jobs with this council before and you wait weeks to hear anything so not holding my breath!
At least no snow here (yet! ) Had frost overnight and the bird bath froze over so had to break it with a small hammer this morning. We get quite a few regular birds visiting every day. Two wood pidgeons, a normal pidgeon, a blackbird, robin and two doves plus a few magpies and starlings now and again. We give them bird nuts which they wait for every morning now and there are fat balls lying around too and mealworms for the blackbird.

Well time to finish now as want to go and watch the rugby on tv. I like watching Ireland play as have been there and have distant relatives in my past from there.

Another month...

Well another month has nearly gone by and I'm still without a proper job! Have had some agency work for a few days but only that. They rang me yesterday to say there was a job going with an investment bank in Liverpool that I could do and was I interested, so I said " Yes " . If its anything like one I got just before Christmeas though I'll still be waiting to hear back in three weeks!

There's an antique fair on in New Brighton tomorrow ( 28th ) so I think I'll go to that. I collect paperweights now but only unusual ones , May go to The Light Cinema afterwards if not carrying a lot! I believe its quite good inside with posh seating and you get to pick where you actually want to sit when booking too on a map.
Weather iis lousy today with hailstones, wind and thunder and lightening plus sunshine! All weather in one day...roll on Summer.......!!!
